Covid 19 information update

So far our university is planning to start a "normal" semester in autumn 2020 if anyhow possible. This of course depends on actual developments concerning infection rates and state regulations. Therefore 3 scenarios have to be considered:
1. a normal semster
2. a "blended solution" with appr. 50 % teaching in presence and appr. 50 % online teaching
3. only online teaching (not probable and not preferred - only in emergency situation)
We accept nominations as normally, but recommend to make fixed booking arrangements for travel and accommodation as late as possible due to the uncertain situation.

Linz - a great place to study

Linz is Austrias third biggest city (appr. 200.000 inhabitants) and lies in the „Heart of Europe“, on the main motor way and trainlines, about half way between Vienna and Salzburg. It’s „old town“ with cafés and restaurant is a pedestrian zone and is easy to reach from residences and the university by foot.

Europe’s great river, the Danube, connects Linz with East and West and this influences the pulsating life of modern culture. Linz is hosting important festivals like the "Ars Electronica Festival" and the "Crossing Europe"-film festival! Museums and Concerthalls for different tastes offer a wide range of activities.

Linz also has it’s own airport with regular connections mostly from Frankfurt, London and Vienna as well as charter flights from different European Cities.

Everybody who is interested in nature and outdoor activities can find the main range of the Alps appr. 70 km South of the city. In the North the countryside rises to the granite hills of the „Mühlviertel“ just across the river on the Northern outskirts.
